Where does tweed fabric come from? tweed fabric has its origin in the Isle of Harris in the south of Scotland, it is also known as Harris Tweed and its use began in the mid-nineteenth century using local wool and natural dyes, achieving a more artisanal production with handmade fabrics and it was not until the twentieth century that it began to be marketed to different countries such as London and Paris.  

The texture of the tweed fabric is openwork and elastic, in some tweed skirts we can find textures and ornaments such as fringes or buttons also patterns such as the popular crows foot or in pastel colors such as pink, mint, blue or darker and classic colors such as black or white.
