Bags
You know when you put an outfit together, and everything just works? I know and love that feeling, and I also love when there’s still a little something missing from the outfit. Why? Because this means I have an opportunity to go shopping!
Bring along your metaphorical shopping bags because I’m here to clear up any FAQs about trending bags and purses.
Bags: Best Sellers and New Arrivals
One of my favorite ways to accessorize any look is to add some sort of bag to my look. Stylish and convenient, a bag is always a good option to add to your outfit.
Let’s review the basics first. Some bags are more about function (like the camera bag or the duffle). Others are more about style (the clutch bag). Others were once about function but are now runway must-haves (like reinvented backpacks or the fanny pack that transformed into the belt bag).
From large to small bags, from pastel to prints, which one of these is on your wishlist?
Tote Bags
A classic tote bag is one of my favorite kinds of bags. A versatile staple in anyone’s closet, this bag is perfect for me when I go to the beach, a coffee shop to write for the day, or if I’m staying over at a friend’s house and want to pack some extra clothes.
I love my tote because of all the things I can carry in it. I can carry my sweatshirt, phone, books, keys, etc., in a tote bag without having to worry about it being too heavy.
Plus, this bag is an environmentally-friendly alternative to plastic shopper bags. Next time you’re at the farmer’s market when buying an authentic French baguette, you can simply say, “No thank you, I brought my own,” when offered a plastic carrier.
Crossbody Bags
Another kind of bag that I absolutely adore would be the crossbody bag. A little lighter than your average messenger bag but larger than the mini bag, these are wonderful for traveling because of their size and ability to carry the necessities.
When I travel, I like to bring a crossbody bag that’s similar to Eva Innocenti’s Mini Keley Bag or her Cami 2.0 crossbody bag. It carries just what you need for a night on the town: wallet/card case, gift cards (because you never know when you’ll need to shop), and keys.
Handbags
For a trip where I don’t have to bring too much, I love to carry a handbag (also called a shoulder bag) with me. While handbags are a little more on the dressier side, they can still be just as useful as a crossbody bag.
I like to carry a handbag with me when I’m out on the town, especially if my outfit doesn’t have pockets, so I can confidently keep my phone, lipstick, card holder, and anything else on hand.
Some types of handbags include the hobo bag. Interestingly, some bags can be a crossbody or handbag, based on the style (and potentially detachable strap). These would include top handle bags or bucket bags.
Putting It Together
There are so many different kinds of bags out there for any and every occasion! From tote bags to handbags, you can never go wrong with owning a bag or two (or ten).
They are stylish, timeless accessories that will serve you well and make your life a little more convenient while also adding that little something to your look!
