Sandal Collection
As someone who lives for sandy shores, the outdoors, and exploring small towns, sandals were always a staple in my closet.
Not only do they look great, but they also provide me the freedom to feel the earth beneath my feet when I’m wandering in nature.
Where To Wear sandals
The real question is, where can’t you wear sandals? This extremely versatile shoe is great in almost every scenario, but I’ll go over some ways that have never let me down:
The Beach
The only shoe I’ll ever wear to the beach are sandals, specifically a pair of chic slides. Other shoes are just impractical, and slip-on sandals allow me to feel the sand between my toes if I want to. Flip flops (aka thong sandals) are a must-have for visiting the Caribbean Islands.
What’s important to consider with sand is heel height. Platform sandals or anything with a wedge heel will leave you with sea legs on the shore — fishermen and watersports enthusiasts say no.
Additionally, gladiator sandals (even with no added heel height) can be tricky to take on and off, which will only delay your splashing into the warm surf. Consider the footbed and heel when planning your vaca wardrobe.
I love wearing a long and flowing maxi dress to the beach with my slide sandals. Add a giant sun hat, a picnic basket, and a woven blanket, and I’m ready for the best beach day ever — accessories are necessities.
Running Errands
Sandals are also very practical shoes for very practical tasks. Whether I’m running to the grocery store or getting my nails done, a sandal is easy to slip on and go.
Because sandals are also so versatile, I don’t have to concern myself with how well it matches my outfit either, as it usually always does.
Brunch With Friends
I have to say, brunch is definitely my most important meal of the day. After a long week of work, I love getting together with friends and enjoying a mimosa (or two) and some eggs benedict on a patio that evokes the feel of a Parisian cafe.
Strappy sandals are my go-to shoe when meeting up for brunch. My typical outfit would be a sundress, a floppy sun hat, and a pair of slides that match.
Vacation
If you know me, you know that my vacation is likely going to involve water of some kind (and, of course, at a luxury all-inclusive resort). Whether it’s the beach, a lake, a river, or simply a pool, you’ll find me swimming when I’m vacationing. That’s why each time I take a trip, I make sure to pack a few sandals.
I adore pairing my slides with my favorite swimsuit and coverup. I’ve been into woven or tied cover-ups lately, as those give a very earthy and rustic vibe.
How I Style Sandals
I find that sandals look great with almost any outfit, but I want to share some of my top favorite ways to style them.
Pairing a pair of colorful slides with some paper bag shorts and a loose blouse is always a great look. Summer dresses and slides are pretty much a perfect pair, so you can never go wrong combining those two. Finally, wide-leg pants with sandals for a casual-yet-cool ensemble that is easy and breezy.
Slide Into Summer With Sandals
Versatile and always comfortable, sandals are a staple in my closet. Whether I’m simply going to visit a friend or packing for a vacation to Italy, you’ll find sandals with me. They’re one of the easiest shoes to style and offer so much flexibility when it comes to your destination.
