Carena is a beachwear brand founded in La Paz Baja California in March 2021 by Melissa Ruiz Montes. Carena was born as a search to offer a swimsuit created with everything that Mexico can offer. Also driven by nostalgia, Melissa conceives a young brand with classic cuts, elegant and comfortable designs that manage to accentuate personality with its versatile and timeless style.

Carena, sunbathe and joyful beachwear

Carena is a name that comes from the combination of Cactus and Sand, two elements that are part of the biodiversity of Baja California. It is also a reflection of the love that its founder has for the place where she grew up and understood that swimsuits are a form of self-expression that embraced the body while sunbathing or having fun in the sea.

The first difficulties arose when looking for the right fabric, one that met the necessary quality and was friendly to the environment. But, due to the pandemic, something simple has become a great challenge.

Carena has collaborated with Pop-Ups in The Cape and Las Ventanas del Paraíso in San José del Cabo. A great showcase that helped to consolidate itself as an emerging brand with a proposal.
